good things in my life...

After all the whinging I've posted on this journal lately, I should mention a few really good things that have happened.

1.) I found a place to live! My current place is a 6-month lease that ends Mar. 31. I don't know whether I'll be staying in this area long term or not. My roommate and I couldn't afford to go month to month because of the exorbitant charges that would be added to our rent, and she's already making places to buy a townhouse with her boyfriend in an area that's about 45 minutes from here. I mentioned my situation to someone at my church, who said she knew something who was a landlord and had houses to rent. I called her up, she had a townhouse for rent, I looked at it, I wanted it, I signed the lease--Yay! She wrote me a special 5-month lease (march-july) and I'll pay about the same as I'm paying now, and get 2 rooms and my own bathroom. A great weight of stress lifted from my brain.

2.) I talked to my advisor, and it turned out that the whole thing about him not being willing to recommend me w/o reservation was all a big misunderstanding. He apologized for upsetting me and said he wished he had talked to me before he had said
anything in the email. Double plus good!

Yay! to both things. I'm glad you have a place to live--not knowing how long you would want to be in another place must have made it hard. And I told you "talk to him" was the best thing to do with your advisor. :-)

Sorry I haven't called you back. I've been both Busy and a Bear of Very Little Brain. Haven't had an unbooked evening/day since last Wednesday, basically. I might actually be available for skating on Sunday, unless I totally crash.

This bloggy thing is so addictive. Thanks for telling me about it, I finally got around to joining. Can I quite teaching and get paid for this in some way? (I know, if we could, would any of us work?)
