I think that this year we set the record for latest ever family breakfast/present opening. My _parents_ (who _never_ get up late) didn't get up until 10; my sister and I didn't get up until 11, and we had scrambled eggs and presents at 12:15!
Of course, this might have had something to do with the fact that we (Mom, my sister Alison and I) had gotten up at 6:30 the day before, left Florida, where we had been visiting extended family, at 7:45, arrived home in Columbia around 4, changed into dressy clothes, went out to finish our Christmas shopping, went to the Christmas Eve service at 5:30 and after that to my Aunt Kris's place for the traditional family and friends Green Enchilada Supper Party. Stopped partying at like 11:30, then went home, where _none_ of us had wrapped any presents. I figured that the parents and sister could have the wrapping stuff first, and since I had done that weird thing I do sometimes where I come out on the other side of incredibly tired and get really hyper, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway. The upshot of this was that I was still wrapping gifts at 4 a.m. and ended up going to bed at a time when some people get up.
It was a great Christmas though; I certainly wouldn't want all of them to be that crazy, but it was fun really.
