Yes, I think that's one thing that does come through on the show about Dee's character--that the military is very important and meaningful to her. Although, she is willing to being the rules when she feels it's important enough--like when she helped Lee and Roslin escape from the brig.

And I think you may be right about Dee and the Adamas--that she married Lee expecting him to be more like his father than he actually is.
